Iyakkam
As this is the story of an "Iyakkam"(Organization), it is named as "Iyakkam". All the aspects of an Action film are present in this film such as-Short dialogues and very serious faces. But as the Love is also included, there is a bit of relaxation.
The name of the Collector of that District is Poi Solla Meiyan. The Hero comes to know that the Owner of his School, Andavar was the reason behind the sudden Killings of the Ex-Collectors and Ex-Officers. So, the Hero starts a Legal battle against Andavar. In this, he looses his legs and his Love also. Just like the people affected near the Veerappan's Sandalwood forests, here also the affected people join together and revolt with weapons against the Andavar. Whether they succeed in their mission or not, is the Climax of this film.
As the most part of this film moves in darkness, it is frightening a bit! The new idea of RishiKumar, inviting a Police Officer for his marriage and murdering him there is something different. As RishiKumar has all the predominant features of an Action Hero, he does not look too charming in the Love scenes. He has 2 Heroines for him in this film. In the two, ShruthiRaj seems to be in deep Love with him. A Rowdy tries to marry her. When RishiKumar kicks that Rowdy the theatre thunders.
Some scenes are like Rose grown in a battlefield. RishiKumar runs in the fear of Police. When he gets into the Auto, we hear a bullet sound. His Jaipur gets cut. In spite of having some positives, in many scenes the film lacks logics. Particularly in the 1st scene RishiKumar shoots and suicides himself. But, how is he again shot by someone in the Climax and dies?
M.S.Baskar's comedy is something to cheer for. Nellai Siva and Citibabu's toilet comedy are examples of very cheap comedy.
Villains have been shown in many types. It seems they would have sat and thought about this topic. On the outlook, the Villains are like ordinary guys. But, if someone goes near them, they will kill them. The Sudhakar Anand (Andavar) has realized his character very clearly and acted appropriately.
1 or 2 songs can be hummed in Praveen Mani's Music. The Cinematographer D.Leo should also be appreciated.
This film is neither too bad, nor too good…!
